Tim 'n' Fenny's Chinese Names
This won't necessarily look right on browsers that can't handle transparency (ie: IE). Look at it at least once with Mozilla before you condemn it for having weird gray rectangles around it or whatever. The characters are read top-to-bottom. The left set of three are "Ai Ting-jie" which is my Chinese name, given to me by Annie Luck, who did a professional job of creating it. The right set of three are "Liao Bi-fen" which is Fenny's Chinese name, given to her by her father and mother in Taiwan. Chinese handwriting is somewhat curious. Notice in the "Ting" character (second-down in my name) and the "Bi" character (second-down in Fenny's name) both have a radical (a set of intersecting strokes) with a vertical stroke and three horizontal strokes intersecting it. These are not the same radical. In my name, the middle stroke is longer than the bottom stroke, and in Fenny's, the bottom stroke is longer than the middle stroke. This is significant. Mix that up, and a Chinese person will know you've got bad handwriting. There are other subtler foul-ups a non-Chinese individual may make, but I won't go into those here.
